Author Ruth Binney gives a talk on weeds, what makes them, why they’re so successful and how they’re important to our ecosystem. She also talks about her experiences with weeds and how she came to love them.
Ruth Binney has studied plants and enjoyed gardening since her childhood spent in Tiverton, Devon. Following graduation in Natural Sciences from Girton College, Cambridge she has had a long and successful career in publishing, as an editor of illustrated non-fiction and as author of a wide range of books whose subjects also include the lore and legends of plants and animals, the English countryside, country houses and numbers. She enjoys painting and drawing, particularly landscapes, and time with her family in Cardiff where she now lives.
